TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif reiterated that the country is resolved to reach an agreement on the nuclear issue.

'I hope that we can advance the issue through mutual cooperation. Iran is determined to reach an agreement on nuclear issue,' he said in a press conference with the EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton here in Tehran on Sunday.

'We showed that we have faith in the issue and there is a political will. Iran has complied by commitments, and the continuation of the path depends on the other side to show how much it fulfills its obligations and comes by the table. The will, decision and commitment should be seen in the other side for reaching an agreement accepted by the other side,' he added.

'We can do this in the next 4-5 months and it could be done in less time. They should accept that Iran only accepts an agreement respecting Iranian nation's rights,' he said.

Ashton, for her part, stressed the importance of interim agreement between Iran and G5+1 on nuclear issue in November, and said, 'We aim to reach an agreement.'

'I admire Mr. Zarif and Iranian negotiating team for what they did. I have been holding talks with Iran for 4 years. The agreement is very important, but not as important as a comprehensive solution.'

She also expressed the hope that the two sides could reach an agreement.
