Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has assured that his administration will not overstep the Islamic Republic's "red lines" in the nuclear negotiations with the P5+1 group.
Speaking in the 15th Summit of Iran's Assembly of Experts in Tehran on Tuesday, President Rouhani reaffirmed that his administration would not cross Iran's red lines in the talks with the P5+1 - Russia, China, France, Britain, the US and Germany - under any circumstances, saying there should be no concern in this regard.
The Iranian chief executive further emphasized that the Islamic Republic would protect the nation's peaceful nuclear rights in the course of the discussions with the six other countries.
President Rouhani further described anti-Iran sanctions as unjust and wrongfully imposed, saying all the US-led bans against the Islamic Republic must be lifted under a final deal over Iran's nuclear energy program.
"If our negotiating side also shows good will and political determination to resolve the [nuclear] issue in action, I believe we can reach a final deal in a short time, even in the first six months," added the Iranian president.
Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany are in talks to hammer out a long-term deal aimed at fully resolving the decade-old dispute over Iran's nuclear energy program. The next round of expert-level talks between Iran and the P5+1 group will start in the Austrian capital, Vienna, on Wednesday.
The two sides signed an interim agreement on Iran's nuclear energy program in Geneva, Switzerland, on November 24, 2013. The deal took effect on January 20.
The meeting of Iran's Assembly of Experts kicked off in the Iranian capital earlier on Tuesday. The body will hold talks on major national issues during the two-day event.
