Iran, IAEA reach agreement on 7 more practical measures

Tehran, Feb 9, IRNA -- Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Sunday reached agreement on seven more practical measures which Tehran will take by May 15, 2014.

The IAEA chief will report the details of the seven practical measures, agreed upon after three rounds of intensive and technical talks, to the Board shortly.

Iran and the IAEA have been in talks since Saturday within the frameworks of the November statement.

The Sundays joint statement reads that Iran and the IAEA held constructive technical meetings from February 8-9 within the framework for cooperation that was agreed between the parties last November.

It further read that during the meetings, the two sides reviewed progress on the implementation of the six initial practical measures that were agreed three months ago.

Iran has taken the initial practical measures that were foreseen, it added.

Irans ambassador and permanent envoy to the IAEA and head of the Iranian negotiating team Reza Najafi and Head of the IAEA team and Deputy IAEA Chief for Safeguards Tero Varjoranta were signatories to the agreement.
