Commander: Home-made Saqar jet to fly next year

Bushehr, Feb 6, IRNA -- Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) Brigadier General Alireza Barkhor announced that the new model of Irans home-made Saqar jet fighter will be flown during next Iranian year (starts March 21, 2014).

We will fly the new model of Irans jet fighter dubbed Saqar next year, Brigadier General Barkhor said.

The Iranian Army and IRIAF protect the Islamic Republics airspace by relying on the indigenized knowledge and intellectual youth as well as the state-of-the-art technical equipment, he added.

The Iranian military commander underlined that the Air Force is so powerful in the region that it is the protector of Irans airspace and no country and superpower cannot even think about any aggressive move against Iranian airspace.

Brigadier-General Barkhor reiterated that Irans aviation equipment has been updated by relying on the indigenized technical know-how and Irans equipment are enjoying up-to-date knowledge.
