TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif reiterated that the recent remarks made by Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Wendy Sherman hinder obtaining a solution on the country's nuclear program.
'I think that it will be useful if Ms. Sherman reviews the realities some time and avoids remarks which is impossible to come true even for internal uses (in the US). These remarks will overshadow the climate of reaching a solution,' Zarif told a press conference with the OIC Secretary General Iyad Madani here in Tehran on Wednesday.
Zarif also said that the US President Barack Obama has already said in an interview that the US has wishes which cannot come true and that the country chose to negotiate with Iran to reach a solution based the realities.
'We have announced expressively that Iran's nuclear technology is not negotiable. The remarks made on nuclear facilities are not irrelevant.'
Iranian Foreign Minister continued that the Iranian nuclear negotiator will not ignore or transfer the nation's rights. 'They (western powers) had to put their willing and wishes aside in the past, they will get the same results during the ongoing talks.'
On Tuesday, Sherman said the Geneva nuclear deal with Tehran was not perfect, and that it rolled back Iran's nuclear program.
'This is not perfect but this does freeze and roll back their program in significant ways and give us time on the clock to in fact negotiate that comprehensive agreement,' Sherman told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Acknowledging that European businesses are rushing to Iran for investment opportunities following the easing of sanctions against the country, Sherman warned companies heading to Iran that the country is not open for business yet.
