Iranian Navy flotilla to enter Atlantic Ocean for 1st time

TEHRAN (ISNA)- The 29th training and combat flotilla of Iranian Navy started an international mission from Bandar Abbas to Atlantic Ocean.

'The 29th training and combat flotilla provides security of Iranian shipping lines in high sea. The staff members will also receive new training,' said Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari.

He also noted that Iran is one of the most important countries responsible for security of vessels passing across the Gulf of Aden and Bab el Mandeb Strait.

He added Iran is one of the few countries escorting trade vessels and tankers and taking them to different points safe and sound.

The flotilla includes Khark helicopter-carrier and logistic war ship as well Sabalan combat destroyer.
