Araqchi: G5+1 insists on implementing Geneva deal with Iran
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Dec 22, IRNA -- Deputy Foreign Minister and member of Iran's nuclear negotiating team Abbas Araghchi said on Sunday that EU foreign policy chief Catjerome Ashton has assured that G5+1 insists on speedy implementation of Geneva deal in order to clinch a final agreement with Iran.
It is not possible to be completely sure that the G5+1 will remain committed to their pledges, he said.
"Since we have witnessed the lack of trust on the part of the other side in the past, we cannot be quite sure about their commitment," he said.
Both sides are pessimistic but Ashton has underlined that G5+1 is serious and determined to implement Geneva deal and is eager to finalize the talks as soon as possible.
Both sides are at odds over some points, he said, adding that difference of opinion might prolong the signing of a final accord.
