TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iran unveiled the first land-based positioning home-made system in a ceremony attended by Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan.
'Positioning is one of the basis of military operations on ground, air and naval areas,' he said.
'Positioning systems are used in civil transportation, railroad, aviation, shipping, civil activities and mapping which can be used in 270 cases,' he said.
Through land-based positioning, the positioning signals are spread across radio sender stations developed across the air and users detect their position with high precision after receiving radio signals.
The system is made up of sub-systems and technologies, including strong senders, antennas and senders synchronizing mechanisms.
