Iran to unveil new sophisticated radar system

Birjand, Dec 10, IRNA -- Commander of Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base, Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili on Tuesday said a newly built radar system dubbed 'Arash" is to be unveiled this week.
Speaking to reporters in Birjand on Monday, he said the new radar system is completely home-made which will join the country's air defense system.
Arash has been designed and manufactured by Iranian experts, he said.
The new radar system is capable of identifying flying objects and being engaged in electronic warfare, he said.
In the near future, new generation of missiles will be produced by the Iranian armed forces, he said.
The new radar system covers 3,600 districts inside the country, he said.
