TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani reiterated that the country would not give up its peaceful nuclear activities.

'Iran is waiting for implementation of the agreements (concluded in Geneva). Iranian nuclear activities are peaceful and will be peaceful. Iran will not give up its nuclear rights including enrichment,' Rouhani said in a meeting with senior member of China's State Council Yang Jiechi here in Tehran.

Jiechi, for his part, said Iran defended its rights in the talks and defeated the western side. 'We respect Iran's rights for using nuclear energy, including uranium enrichment.'

The two sides also expressed willingness for the further expansion of bilateral ties between Iran and China in all areas.

Trade between Iran and China in the past year was estimated at $45bln.

Iran is currently China's third largest supplier of crude, providing Beijing with roughly 12 percent of its total annual oil consumption.
