TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan blasted his US counterpart for his recent anti-Iranian hostile remarks.
'Diplomacy will yield results with logic and rationality not with resorting to force, warmongering (policies) and violating nations' rights,' Dehghan said.
His remarks came after the US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has recently claimed that diplomacy towards Iran should be backed by military power.
Dehghan further added that the 'language of threat' and bellicose rhetoric go against rationality and logic, and are valueless in the eyes of the people in the world.
'The expressive admissions of the US Defense Secretary that they are selling more weapons to Persian Gulf states demonstrate the goals of their Iranophobia project and show that they are not concerned about regional security but thinking of serving their own interests and rescuing their crisis-hit economies,' the Iranian senior military official said.
He further called on Persian Gulf states not to be trapped in the US military psychological war, and added sustainable security is established with good neighboring, constructive interaction and joint cooperation based on trust and without mistrust.
