Iran's defense power poses no threat to any country

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Dec 1, IRNA -- Minister of Defense Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan said Sunday that Iran's defensive power poses no threat to any country including regional states.

Speaking to IRNA, the minister said even Iran's neighboring states have currently realized that the country "is a source of stability and security in the region and it is the presence of others which causes insecurity."

"In order to justify their presence in the region, foreign powers are trying to spread Iranophobia," said the brigadier general adding, however, "that atmosphere is on the verge of breaking."

He stressed that through foreign policy of the new Iranian government, the "Iranophobia has turned into interaction with Iran."

Referring to Iran's powerful situation both in the region and in the international arena, Dehqan said Tehran can be an influential player regarding its key role in security and defensive equations.

Criticizing the "inhuman and dangerous phenomenon of Takfiri terrorism" in the region, the minister said they are to "spread terrorism from Syria to Iraq." He stressed that the issue will put in danger regional stability and security.

The minister expressed hope that following Iran's first step nuclear deal with the Group 5+1 in Geneva, the "international community would now believe that Tehran is not pursuing nuclear weapon."

Meanwhile, the brigadier general stressed "Iran would by no means give up its legitimate rights known by international agreements.

"No sanction or threats can force Iran to abandon its rights," Dehqan stressed.

Referring to Irans major achievements made in Geneva, he said "The countrys three factors of leadership, executive body and national solidarity created the victory."
