Zarif: Iran to continue enrichment program far from int'l pressures

Geneva, Nov 24, IRNA -- Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed that Iran's nuclear program will go on far from international pressures.

The foreign minister made the remark here Sunday morning local time after the signing of the historical agreement between Iran and the 5+1.

Stressing that Iran's nuclear program will continue, he said Iran will move on towards removal of all sanctions.

Paying tribute to Iran's nuclear martyrs and expressing gratitude to the Iranian nation, Supreme Leader and President for the ceaseless support for the talks, he said resistance of the Iranians against illegal and unjust pressures finally came to a result.

He said the international community witnessed that for the second time in just a fortnight foreign ministers of the world most powerful countries rushed to Geneva to make their presence in the negotiations, eventually having come to the conclusion that the only way to deal with the Iranian nation is through mutual respect and equal stands.

He said the Iranian nuclear program will go on because it is a well-recognized one, adding that now the right of the Iranian nation to the peaceful nuclear technology stated in the Non-Proliferation Treaty has been recognized.

He also noted that all sanctions, imposed on Iran for its nuclear program, will be removed gradually in six months.

Zarif stated that the 5-percent uranium enrichment will continue as before, stressing that none of the enrichment centers will be closed down.

The heavy water program will go on in its present form and no material is to exit the country.

The foreign minister reiterated that no further sanctions will be imposed on the country, with the present ones going to be eased.

According to him, Iran will have access to its frozen assets from the first day of the implementation of the agreement which will take two or three weeks in the preparation phase.
