TEHRAN (ISNA)- Senior Iranian nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi said Iran lost its confidence in the G5+1 after Geneva II meeting held early November.

'Considering loss of confidence of Iranian delegation in the way of talks in the previous round of Geneva talks, we will have a tougher job in Geneva III meeting which includes returning confidence to the talks and working on areas of disputes,' Araqchi told ISNA.

He added Iran and the other side made good progress in Geneva II, but Iran lost its confidence because of some issues, 'It does not mean that the talks is returning to the zero point. The talks have had its own progress and we got close to mutual understanding and even joint statement.'

Araqchi continued the two sides could not work out a joint statement and talks were postponed to another session, adding that it does not mean 'failure in talks'.

The senior Iranian nuclear negotiator refused to comment on being optimist or pessimist about the fresh round of talks. 'The process of talks in Geneva III will show us in the first day that how much w can be hopeful.'

Commenting on Iran's positions in the nuclear talks, he said, 'We do not accept any condition before the talks and we will not cross our red lines.'

On November 7-9, Iran and the five permanent UN Security Council members - Britain, China, France, Russia and the US - plus Germany, held three days of intense discussions in the Swiss city of Geneva.

The two sides did not reach an agreement but stressed that significant progress had been made and expressed optimism about the prospect of a possible deal in the future.

The next round of the talks between Iran and the six countries is slated for November 20 in the Swiss city.
