TEHRAN (ISNA)- The US State Department Spokesman Alan Eyre said the two sides have made good progress in the recent round of talks held between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany in Geneva.

'There are differences, but it has to be settled by diplomacy and we have had good progress in this round of talks,' Eyre told ISNA.

'Generally, any country and any nation has its own views and is pursuing its interests. G5+1 is not one nation but there are 6 countries and each one is doing based on its national interests. So we worked and will work based on diplomacy,' he said as asked about the US's view on French views.

Also regarding Paris's role in preventing agreement between Iran and G5+1 in Geneva talks, he said, 'Not at all. As the US Secretary of State said every gossip or word should not be noticed.'

Eyre added no agreement has been yet made between Iran and G5+1, as calling dialogues 'constructive and positive'.
