Iran's foreign minister has expressed hope that constructive talks between Tehran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany will continue with determination.

Mohammad Javad Zarif described the process of talks between Iran and the group of six powers - Britain, China, France, Russia, the US and Germany - as "progressive," expressing hope that both sides would continue negotiations in Geneva with determination.

Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with his French counterpart Laurent Fabius in the French capital, Paris, on Tuesday.

The top Iranian diplomat stressed the necessity of addressing the concerns of both sides and respecting Iran's right to peaceful nuclear know-how during the talks.

Fabius, for his part, urged Iran to "respond in a concrete and verifiable manner to the concerns of the international community," a statement from his spokesman Romain Nadal said.

Zarif arrived in the French capital on Tuesday to attend the 37th session of the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

The Iranian foreign minister is to participate in the next round of nuclear negotiations set to begin on November 7.

The previous round of talks between Iran and the six world powers was held in Geneva on October 15-16, during which Zarif presented Iran's proposal titled 'Closing an Unnecessary Crisis, and Opening a New Horizon' to EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton and the representatives of the six countries.

Foreign Minister Zarif later described the talks as "extensive" and "fruitful," while Ashton hailed the meeting as the "most detailed" and most "substantive" ever held between the two sides.
