'Nuclear provinces' prioritized in civil defense

Head of Iran's Passive Defense Organization Brigadier General Gholam-Reza Jalali says three "nuclear provinces" are prioritized in passive defense services.
Brigadier General Gholam-Reza Jalali further stated on Tuesday that the nation has 12 "nuclear provinces," adding that three of them - Isfahan, Arak and Bushehr - are prioritized in terms of providing passive defense in the face of such threats as industrial leaks, terrorism and other hostile actions by the nation's enemies.
Commenting on Iran's cyber defense measures, he said the his organization is engaged in assessing cyber threats, identifying cyber vulnerabilities and infrastructures, classification of the nation's major infrastructures in terms of their dependence on the cyber space and security requirements, as well as providing enhancements and protection for key infrastructures in the country.
Pointing to the significance of cyber defense, General Jalali said Russia launched its cyber defense base last week while US, German and British cyber defense bases were launched a year ago.
The Iranian official further noted that in the area of nuclear and cyber passive defense "our enemies are not idle and are actively seeking to harm our nation's domestic infrastructures."
He added that the measures adopted by this organization have challenged their schemes."
He said that the Passive Defense Organization has trained cyber defense teams that are ready to provide cyber assistance and support in face of threats and enemy attacks.
