IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Vienna, June 27, IRNA -- The IAEA will continue the dialogue with Iran on its nuclear dossier, IAEA Director-General Yokia Amano said here Thursday.

Speaking at the 3rd IAEA International High-Level Conference in St Petersburg on Thursday, Amano said 'The decision on Iran's nuclear program is in competence of the IAEA Board of Governors'.

'My task is to collect information and to submit it to the IAEA Board of Governors,' he stressed, adding that the IAEA worked on this issue as the unique mechanism.

Amano recalled that the IAEA had adopted two resolutions on this issue in November 2011 and in September 2012.

'At present, we inform the Board of Governors on the implementation of the resolutions, especially the second resolution, which calls for stepping up the work with Iran,' the IAEA director-general said, commenting on if the IAEA position changes on the Iranian nuclear dossier after a new president comes to power, Amano said.

'Our position will be as it is with the previous president. Naturally, we'll continue the dialogue with the country and it will be aimed at achieving concrete results,' he added.

Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Wednesday revealed the enemies attempt to damage Iranian economy over the nuclear dispute.

Addressing a group of Judiciary officials on the occasion of the Judiciary Week, Ayatollah Khamenei said the nuclear case has repeatedly gone to the stage of solution but Americans prevented under a variety of pretexts.

The Supreme Leader referred to a written document signed by former Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Mohamed ElBaradei after implementing a Modality Plan signed by the two parties in 2006 to resolve the outstanding issues and said, In the document the Agency has admitted the problems with Irans nuclear issues are settled; so, Iran nuclear dispute should have been closed but Americans soon raised new issues because they believe nuclear issue is a suitable point for intimidating and putting pressure on Iran.

The Supreme Leader said as far as nuclear issue is concerned, the Islamic Republic of Iran has acted legally and transparently, presenting firm logic.

The enemies, however, are pressing ahead with pressure, making Iranian nation tired for their ultimate goal of regime change. So, they prevent the problem getting settled.

Of course, the enemies claim in their private conversations and statements that they are not seeking regime change, but, their deeds contradict their words, the Supreme Leader said, adding, 'For them, nothing, lets say nuclear, human rights, and democracy, are important. They intend to impede the nations' progress and re-dominate our dear Iran.

'The Islamic Republic of Iran, however, stands strongly and independently, with reliance on blessings of Almighty Allah and placing trust in people, to defend national interests. Experience has shown that anybody would emerge victorious, if one stands firm on the Right Path. And there is no doubt that Iranian nation, too, would slap the enemies in the face in this concern.'
