Supreme Leader reveals enemies' attempt to damage Iran economy over nuclear dispute
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
S Tehran, June 26, IRNA -- Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Wednesday revealed the enemies' attempt to damage Iranian economy over the nuclear dispute.
Addressing a group of Judiciary officials on the occasion of the Judiciary Week, Ayatollah Khamenei said the nuclear case has repeatedly gone to the stage of solution but Americans prevented under a variety of pretexts.
The Supreme Leader referred to a written document signed by former Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Mohamed ElBaradei after implementing a Modality Plan signed by the two parties in 2006 to resolve the outstanding issues and said, 'In the document the Agency has admitted the problems with Iran's nuclear issues are settled; so, Iran nuclear dispute should have been closed but Americans soon raised new issues because they believe nuclear issue is a suitable point for intimidating and putting pressure on Iran.'
The Supreme Leader said as far as nuclear issue is concerned, the Islamic Republic of Iran has acted legally and transparently, presenting firm logic.
'The enemies, however, are pressing ahead with pressure, making Iranian nation tired for their ultimate goal of regime change. So, they prevent the problem getting settled.'
'Of course, enemies claim in their private conversations and statements that they are not seeking regime change, but, their deeds contradict their words,' the Supreme Leader said, adding, 'For them, nothing, let's say nuclear, human rights, and democracy, are important. They intend to impede the nation's progress and re-dominate our dear Iran. The Islamic Republic of Iran, however, stands strongly and independently, with reliance on blessings of God Almighty and placing trust in people, to defend national interests. Experience has shown that anybody would emerge victorious, if he/she stands firmer on the right path. And there is no doubt that Iranian nation would slap the enemies in the face in this concern either.'
Commenting on the June 14 President election, Ayatollah Khamenei said the big and virtual epic of the insightful and wise Iranian nation is 'exemplary.'
The Supreme Leader said that major outcome of the election was all-out failure of the plans and goals of enemies; public trust in the Islamic establishment and the strength of the Islamic Republic of Iran to defend interests of the nation.
The Supreme Leader said that the year-long, complicated and multi-facetted plans of camp opposing Iranian nation failed.
'Enemies and opponents of the Islamic Republic tried to prevent successful election to be held and predicted a stagnant turnout.'
Ayatollah Khamenei said the enemies had plans even after elections to materialize their sinister goals under various pretexts but under God's grace the nation showed its skill and majesty on the voting day and what happened was 180 degrees opposite the expectations of the enemies.
The Supreme Leader said the key to wide-scale presence of Iranian nation in this year's elections was public trust and interest in the Islamic Republic, trust in officials in charge of organizing the election and nation's hope in constant and progressive move of dear Iran.
'And this is a highly important and undeniable reality.'
Referring to his assertions several days before the elections, Ayatollah Khamenei said, 'That day, it was said if there are anybody not being sincere with the system but attach importance to Iran and national interests to take part in the elections; perhaps some of the voters fall within the same group. The reality shows that even those not supporting the system trust the elections because they do know that the Islamic Republic system has stood firmly against greedy powers and well defend the country, national interests and national dignity.'
'Under the divine blessing, the election was in fact an epic; so wishes of well-wishers materialized,' said the Supreme Leader.
Elsewhere in his speech, the Supreme Leader said that running the state affairs is a really difficult task and all individuals and all organs should help the president-elect.
The Supreme Leader acknowledged the opposition and 'healthy criticism' and said that the opposition is helpful for country's progress certainly, but, all should bear in mind that it is easy to stand in the margins but getting involved in the executive field is too difficult; therefore, all should assist the president-elect.
