IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, June 2, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman reacting to inclusion of Iran in US Department of State's supporters of terrorism said here Sunday publication of baseless reports by US administration will not make world public opinion swerve from US crimes against mankind.
Seyyed Abbas Araqchi added, 'The United States' all-out support for the state sponsored terrorism of the racist-Zionist regime, or the inhumane conduct of the US military forces under the cover of campaign against terrorism are not ignored by world nations.'
The spokesman of the Iranian diplomatic apparatus added, 'Over a decade since the chanting of the US politicians' anti-terrorism mottoes, now the international community and the world public opinion is well capable of judging the contradictions between the words and the deeds of the US officials, particularly in their campaign against the malicious terrorism phenomenon as well as the double standards they observe in dealing with terrorist groups.'
He said, 'Three decades after the establishment and arming of the al-Qaeda, the new experience of establishment and arming of such terrorist groups as al-Nusra in Syria showed that dealing with that malicious phenomenon, which is a threat against the international peace and stability has become a political tool in the hands of the US policy.'
Araqchi added, 'Of course, the Iranian nation as one of the greatest victims of terrorism had already experienced this kind of US support for such groups as 'Jund ul-Satan' (Jund ul-Lah) and the MKO'
The Foreign Ministry spokesman reiterated, 'Such double standards leave room for no legitimacy for the anti-terrorism claims of the US administration.'
According to the Media Head Office of the IRI Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Araqchi at the end stressed that Tehran closely monitors the interactions among the US administration and the terrorist organization around the globe and the relations between the US officials in the region and some such organizations.
The United States hypocritically claimed Friday that the Islamic Republic of Iran's involvement in international terrorism increased during the past year.
