Iran's former Foreign Minister Manoucher Mottaki has announced his readiness for candidacy in the next presidential election.

The 60-year-old politician, who served as Iran's foreign minister from August 2005 to December 2010, announced his decision in a letter posted on his personal website on Tuesday.

Iran's eleventh presidential elections will be held on June 14, 2013.

Last month, Secretary of Iran's Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaei also said that he intended to run in the election.

"My presence in the future presidential election is certain and I will take part in the election to win," Rezaei said.

Rezaei came in third with 1.7 percent of the votes in the 2009 election.
