Defense min: New defense achievements to be unveiled soon

Tehran, Feb 21, IRNA -- Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said new defense achievements will be unveiled soon.
Talking at the sideline of a ceremony to pay tribute to 474 martyrs of defense industries on Thursday, he said inauguration of the latest achievements will pave the way for new developments in defense technology sector in the country.
The minister referred to production of air-to-air and surface-to-air missiles and new bombs as some of the new achievements to be unveiled in near future.
As for the special capabilities of the new bombs, he said they enjoy enhanced power of effectiveness and could be launched from several kinds of helicopters.
The Brigadier General also said that a new warship and a new submarine constructed by Iranian experts will be launched in near future as well.
