Russia calls for continued cooperation with Iran's peaceful nuclear activities

Moscow, Feb 12, IRNA -- The tenth Iran-Russia Joint Economic Commission meeting wound up in Moscow on Tuesday, calling for continued cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran on nuclear technology.
The two sides inked three memorandums of understanding on expansion of mutual cooperation and Iran's peaceful nuclear program.
Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and Russian Energy Minister Aleksander Novak who co-chaired the meeting signed the protocol of the tenth joint economic commission.
The two officials signed MoUs on expansion of mutual cooperation in transport, energy, agriculture and business.
The Iranian and Russian officials also singed some documents on environment protection.
Iran's foreign minister thanked the Russian official on successful conduct of the meeting and said that Iranian and Russian officials are determined to broaden all-out relations and cooperation.
He expressed the hope to witness further expansion of economic cooperation between the two countries in the future.
Russian energy minister, for his part said Moscow calls for bolstering ties and relations between the two countries and successful conduct of the joint economic commission is a good indication for the goal.
Russian companies are very enthusiastic to attend Iranian market, he said.
Russia is also ready to continue with cooperation on nuclear technology, he said adding that the country can help Iran construct new power plants.
Fortunately, construction of Bushehr nuclear power plant is now over and Russia is ready to cooperate with Iran for construction of other power plants, he said.
The tenth Iran-Russia Joint Economic Commission meeting kicked off on Monday.
