Army's war games in western Iran aimed at promoting forces capabilities: commander

Qasr-e Shirin, Kermanshah prov, Oct 30, IRNA -- Commander of Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said on Tuesday that upgrading the forces' capabilities and boosting their spirit are among the objectives of the war games being held in western Iran.

Talking to IRNA, he added that the maneuvers sought to prepare the forces to fulfill missions in real situations in the best manner.

One of the main activities of the army is to hold war games proportionate to the threats posed against the country from outside the borders, he said.

The war games help promote the armed forces' might, make their educations operational and promote the power of deterrence and military capability, Pourdastan said.
