2nd day of air mobility operation drill kicks off in western Iran

Tehran, Oct 30, IRNA -- The Iranian Army began on Tuesday the second day of an air mobility operation drill codenamed ‘Kheibar’ in Emamieh region west of the country, said Deputy Commander of Operations of the Army's Ground Forces Brigadier Ali Mehrabi.
Speaking to IRNA, the commander said the first phase of the military exercise was conducted on Monday.
The third phase of the maneuver would be held on Wednesday in Sar-pole Zahab to Qasr-e Shirin district in Gilan-e Gharb region with the participation of Army airborne units.
The main purpose of the war game is to showcase the armed forces capabilities and enhance individual and collective skills to counter possible threats posed by enemies.
He stressed that showcasing the deterrence capabilities and enhancing combat readiness of airborne units in quick action and reaction operations are among other objectives of the war game.
