Supreme Leader: Iranian nation not to fall short against any aggression

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Oct 12, IRNA -- Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said on Friday that Iranian nation does not favor aggression and invasion, while not coming short against any aggression.

Addressing a group of military officials in northeastern province of North Khorassan on Friday, the Supreme Leader said armed forces are source of Iranian nation’s security, guarding them against foreigners’ aggressive ambitions.

“Based on their Islamic injunctions, Iranian nation are not the men of aggression and invasion and at the same time not willing to fall short of confronting any aggression,” said the Paramount Leader.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the hegemonic powers have the ambition to ignite war, sell arms and improve the military industries of the capitalists. “The only reason the power mongers’ motivation for waging war has downgraded or getting weakened is the general readiness of Iranian nation and the defense readiness of the armed forces.”

The Paramount Leader said general readiness of Iranian nation, especially the youth, is today in the highest possible level compared to the past and the armed forces are more prepared and more powerful than the past.

Ayatollah Khamenei said faith in God and spirituality have been the main cause of the armed forces’ high power and deterrent strength. Victory of the Muslim combatants in the eight-year of Sacred Defense and failure of the seemingly “powerful and well-equipped” army of the Zionist regime of Israel in the 33-day war in Lebanon and 22-day war of Gaza are the best examples of the effect of spirituality on high defensive power of individuals.

Iranian nation today feels stronger against enemies than ever and the feeling depends on realities, according to the Supreme Leader.
