IRGC Navy Commander: Iran enjoys highest capabilities in naval mines

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Sept 21, IRNA -- Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi announced here Friday that the Islamic Republic of Iran, having experienced eight years of Iraqi-imposed war, enjoys the highest capability in naval mines.

Rear Admiral Fadavi made the remarks on the sideline of a ceremony commemorating the start of the Sacred Defense Week at the mausoleum of the Late Founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, in southern Tehran.

In reaction to recent US and its allies' naval exercise in the Persian Gulf, he said the enemies' demining capabilities have not progressed much compared to the time when the Iraqi-imposed war was going on.

Rear Admiral Fadavi said US and its allies have showcased a part of their capabilities in naval demining exercise in the Persian Gulf.

He stressed that US and its allies dispatched 83 demining ships to the Persian Gulf during Iraqi-imposed war but they did not achieve any success.
