Tehran, Sept 17, IRNA -- Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Monday renewed censure of blaspheming Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH), saying that the blasphemy emanated from failure of the enemies vis-a-vis the Islamic Awakening movements.
“Having insight on the Islamophobic policies of the arrogance and Zionism, nations have pointed their finger to the US and certain European states for recent blasphemy; So, rulers of the states should prevent such maniac measures, proving in action that they are not complicit in such a big crime,” the Supreme Leader said in an address to police cadets graduation ceremony.
The Supreme Leader said that Muslims’ enemies failure vis-a-vis the Great Iranian nation has prompted them to take such “maniac” action.
Terming the insult as “lasting eye opener of history”, Ayatollah Khamenei said while avoiding condemnation of such crimes and not fulfilling their duty vis-à-vis such a big crime, leaders of the world arrogance claim not being involved in such an event.
“Of course, we do not wish to insist proving their involvement in the crime but the policy of the US policymakers and certain Europeans, have prompted the world public opinion to place the blame on them. They (the Americans and Europeans) should acquit themselves of such a heavy crime not in words but in deed.”
He recalled the anti-Islamic motives of the world arrogance and said due to the same reason, the arrogant powers have not taken any action to prevent blasphemy against Islam and the Islamic sanctities and would not do so in the future either.
Ayatollah Khamenei dismissed the US and Western officials claim that preventing blasphemy contradicts the principle of freedom of expression.
The Leader said certain red lines do exist in the West which prevent any insult to the principles of the arrogant system, which stand as evidences for falsehood of the claims.
“Would there be anyone to believe that in the countries, where offense to principles of the arrogant administration is strongly and violently prevented, any action to prevent blaspheming Islamic sanctities would account for negating freedom of expression?” the Leader questioned.
“In many western states no one would dare to question the ambiguous Holocaust event or publish any article on the dirty immoral matters such as homosexuality; So, how it is that the principle of freedom of expression is respected in case of desecration of the Islamic sanctities?”
Calling Americans “nurturers of dictators”, Ayatollah Khamenei touched on the unsparing and decades long support of the US for Egyptian dictator Hosni Mobarak, Iran’s dictator Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and current regional dictators.
“With such a dark record, how Americans can claim supporting democracy and freedom of expression?”
The Supreme Leader said that the nations’ staging protest demonstrations against the US political-social centers in different countries is sign of their deep hatred of the arrogant and Zionist policies.
“Nations’ heart is filled with hatred of the US; so when they find an occasion such as the recent blasphemy, they show their anger and hatred publicly.“
"Undoubtedly, the sun of Islam would further shine in the face of the arrogant powers who confront the divine religion. Victory will ultimately be with the Muslim Ummah,” the Leader said.
Elsewhere in his speech, Ayatollah Khamenei lauded Iranian nation for their zeal and strong interest in progress, innovation and vibrancy.
Prior to the Supreme Leader’s speech national anthem was played and he paid homage to martyrs of eight-year US-backed Iraqi imposed war 1980-1988.
