Supreme Leader: Iran determined to attain its lofty goals

Tehran, Sept 1, IRNA -- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Saturday that the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to pave its path to attain its lofty goals.
Supreme Leader of the Islamic revolution made the remarks in a meeting with Democratic People's Republic of Korea President of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly Kim Yong-nam.
Iran and North Korea have common stand in many global developments, said Ayatollah Khamenei adding that Iran is fully determined to attain national aspirations.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that pressures, sanctions and threats will not leave any impacts on Iranian national resolve to proceed with lofty goals.
There exist ample untapped potentials in both sides which should be explored, said the Supreme Leader adding that Iran and North Korea have common enemies and as independent states they never give up national aspirations.
Referring to a visit to North Korea when the Supreme Leader was the chief executive, Ayatollah Khamenei praised late North Korean leader Kim Jong-il.
DPRK's President of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly Kim Yong-nam conveyed the warm greetings of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and described the visit of Iranian leader to DPRK as a turning point in Tehran-Pyongyang relations.
Expansion of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran is among strategic policies of DPRK, he said.
He also praised Iran's significant success and development in many fields.
North Korea's President of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly Kim Yong-nam heading a delegation attended NAM Summit of Leaders.
