Basij fully prepared to confront enemies: IRGC’s chief commander

Tehran, Aug 2, IRNA -- Commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolution’s Guard Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said that a new formation within the Basij (volunteer forces) known as Salehins’ circles is a way for all-out confrontation with the enemies of the country.
Major General Jafari made the remarks at a seminar entitled ‘Meeting with Benefactors’ organized by Tehran’s Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) Division and at the presence of 10,000 of Basij (volunteer forces) in Tehran’s Permanent Prayer Grounds.
“One of the main strategies for confronting the soft war of the enemy in cultural, political and social fields is the formation of Basij’s Salehins’ circles,” he added.
Major General Jafari noted that the enemy has adopted the cultural, political and social warfare as its main strategy.
He pointed out that members of Salehins are taught properly how to fight against the cultural, political and social onslaught of the enemies of the country.
“The conditions of the Islamic Revolution as a model of Islamic awakening is of particular importance in the region and today the center of the Islamic awakening is considered as Tehran where Salehins can fulfill their duties,” Major General Jafari added.
