Tehran, August 2, IRNA -- Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi on Thursday said US Republican Presidential candidate’s anti-Iran rhetoric as misleading public opinion from US internal problems.
He said that the US is passing through the most difficult economic crisis in its history and one of the most important elements in decision making for Americans is to vote for economic program of the presidential candidates but none of the two Democrat and Republican candidates has any plan to get out of the current economic dilemma.
“US Authorities are also diverting public opinion from the failures in their foregn policies especially in Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine and the Islamic Awakening movement in the Middle East and North Africa,” he said.
Vahidi said that the western officials nowadays are fully involved in Syrian developments just to divert public opinion from Palestine issues with Zionists.
He said although Syrians said no to foreign interference and some other Syrians have their own natural demands to which their government gave proper answer by ushering in reform program, but regional and trans-regional governmente are sending weapons into Syria to change the democratic demands to armed struggle.
Vahidi criticized certain regional countries for supplying weapons to Syrian opposition to encourage terrorism.
"They commit ugly action by sending weapons into Syria with the help of western governments because they are turning the Syrian natural public demands to bloody insurgency."
On national defense issues, Vahidi said that his ministry follows up different projects including new generation of flying vessels and new generation of missiles.
