Waging any conflict in Persian Gulf sign of West's stupidity

Tehran, July 14, IRNA -- IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said on Saturday that the Islamic Republic of Iran is in full control of the Strait of Hormuz and Persian Gulf region.

Addressing the IRGC naval forces, he said outbreak of any conflict in the Persian Gulf waters will indicate the stupidity of western troops.

Western countries have admitted Iran's missile capabilities, the commander said.

The US knowledge abut Iran’s military capabilities is very low and there is no doubt that the country has drmatically improved and upgraded its missile power, he said.

Since the US has been disappointed at taking any military action against Iran, they have resorted to economic sanctions, he said.

If the global arrogance had been able to attain its sinister goals through militarism, they would have done it, he said.

The US and the Zionist regime experienced bitter and unpleasant experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan in the past ten years as well as in 33-day and 22-day war in Lebanon, he said.

The point is that Iran is able to materialize its declared goals, he said.

The Islamic Republic of Iran fully controls the Persian Gulf as well as the Strait of Hormuz, he said, adding that they know that if they take any hostile action against Iran, they will have to pay dearly for it.

“We determine the rules of military conflict in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz,” he said.

Any military conflict in the Persian Gulf waters against Iran depends on the stupidity of the western countries in making such mistakes, he said adding that it seems they have focused on economic pressures and sanctions instead of military option; however, the Iranian forces are ready to deal with any threat and military action.

Iran is able to fully close the Strait of Hormuz, he said, adding that the security of this region belongs to all and if Iran is excluded, all will be deprived of it, he said.

As long as the security and interests of Iran are not endangered, nothing will happen but if the US seeks to damage the security of the region, all will suffer alike, he said.

Presence of US forces will destabilize the security of the entire region, underlined the commander.

IRGC navy forces fully cooperate with army’s navy in foiling the plots of the enemies, Fadavi said.
