IR Iran fully ready to tackle enemy’s air intrusion: Commander

Tabriz, July 8, IRNA -- The spokesman of tactical air defense maneuvers, Brigadier General Shahrokh Shahram, said that IR Iran’s Army’s air defense units are fully prepared and vigilant to confront any of enemy’s airplane or helicopter illegally entering the Iranian territory.
Talking to IRNA, Brigadier General Shahram said that the army’s air defense units are in full power and they are apt to use their capabilities in the field of reconnaissance, pursuit and destruction of any flying object suspected to belong to the enemy.
“The vigilant and sacrificing employees of army’s air defense system and radar stations, monitoring sites, missile and artillery units are fully ready to defend the IR Iran’s territory,” he added.
Shahram noted that in the first phase of tactical maneuvers of Khatam-ul-Anbia air defense unit, the reconnaissance aircraft of hypothetical enemy were recognized by radar stations, land and air sites.
Tactical air defense drills of IR Iran began at 6:00 a.m. Sunday and entered operational phase after preparing equipment and human resources.
The main purpose of air defense maneuvers is responding to the psychological operations of the enemy with the aim of nullifying the recent anti-Iran propaganda by regional media.
