Tehran, July 4, IRNA -- Iran’s Ambassador to Oman Hossein Noushabadi on Tuesday conferred with the French ambassador to Muscat on Iran’s legitimate rights to making use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
In the meeting, the two sides reviewed the results of talks between Iran and G5+1.
“We hope France would adopt a more rational stand under the new Frensh president on Iran’s legitimate right to make use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes,” Noushabadi said.
He hoped to see the French government adopt a new approach to Iran.
He expressed the hope that the change of policies by the new French government would lead to more exchange of visits and talks between the two sides' high ranking officials in a bid to revive the historical relations between the two great civilizations, he said.
"We hope to witness expansion of cooperation between the two countries as Iran is determined to broaden ties and cooperation with European countries, France in particular, based on mutual respect and interests.
Iran’s stands on regional and international developments are very clear and the country fully abides by its international commitments and on this basis it believes that making use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes is among its legitimate rights, Noushabadi said.
He also sharply criticized the double standard policies of the West and the US on Iran.
Iran should enric uranium at a 20-percent level i order to produce medicines for over one million patients mainly those suffering from cancers, he said.
Iran’s nuclear program is under supervision of IAEA and the country has not deviated from its commitments, he said, adding that the country would continue its peaceful nuclear activities and under no circumstances will it let its rights be trampled upon by bulling powers, said the Iranian ambassador.
