IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, June 26, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Tuesday that the European Union unilateral sanctions against Iran will not have any constructive impact on bilateral relations and the nuclear talks.
Ramin Mehmanparast made the remarks in his weekly press briefing.
Asked about continued EU pressure on Iran and its effect on the expert meetings for nuclear talks underway in Istanbul, Mehmanparast said the acceptable results will be achieved only through cooperation and positive approaches.
Surely, he added, the unilateral sanctions against Iran will not help the nuclear talks between Tehran and the Group 5+1- the US, Britain, France, China and Russia plus Germany.
About escalation of tension between Turkey and Syria over downing of Turkish jet fighter by Syrian anti-aircraft batteries, Mehmanparast said Iran is trying to mediate between them due to the current critical situation in the region.
He added Iran is concerned about any measure to foment regional instability.
Talking about Saudi Arabia’s violation of Iranian nationals’ rights, Mehmanparast said Iran holds Saudi officials responsible for the great violation of international conventions and the counsel rights of Iranian citizens put to death by extrajudicial death warrants.
He added the Islamic Republic of Iran does not let any mistreatment of Iranian citizens by the host countries .
Mehmanparast said Tehran is to send a delegation to Riyadh to pursue the case of the executed Iranian nationals.
