Tehran, May 8, IRNA -- Iran will not allow any individual to make miscalculated remarks about integral parts of her territorial sovereignty including the three Islands of the Persian Gulf.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast told reporters in his weekly briefing that Iran reserves the right to defend its territorial integrity.
Responding to a question about statement of a Sheikhdom of the Persian Gulf about the three Iranian Islands in the Persian Gulf, Mehmanparast said that the three Islands belong to Iran and Iran will strongly defend its territorial sovereignty.
“They had better seize the opportunity to develop economic cooperation with Iran rather than making miscalculated statements.”
He said that it is the Zionist regime's conspiracy to sow discord among nations of the region and the officials of those countries must exercise vigilance not to fall into the trap of the enemies of Islam.
Mehmanparast said that there is high capacity for economic cooperation among the nations in the region.
"Economic cooperation will help bolster peace, security and economic development of the nations."
He said that international developments and Islamic awakening movement in the Muslim states have jeopardized the interests of the Zionist regime and its supporters led by the US.
"They have resorted to such conspiracies to overshadow the critical conditions facing the Zionist regime.”
Responding to a question about seeking compensation from Russia over its failure to honor the contract on sale of S-300 missile system, Mehmanparast said that legal action has been taken to repatriate the total money paid on the contract plus the interest.
He said that Iran sought compensation from the Russian government for its failure to honor the contract despite it had nothing to do with the unlawful resolutions of the United Nations.
