Iran plans to build new military aircrafts

TEHRAN (ISNA) - Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi said the country aims to design and build new military aircrafts in the future.
Vahidi stressed most countries except the U.S. and Russia either build planes under the license of other country or carry out joint projects in this regard.
He noted Iran has made huge progress in aerial domains including the indigenous aircraft Saeghe "thunderbolt" that was delivered to the country's Air Forces flotilla.
The Defense Minister added Iran is launching mini jet engines and that there are some programs on designing and building big engines including turbojet and turbofan.
Iran enjoys the capabilities to take steps in promoting the generation of the planes including the 4th generation of the planes inside the country.
Regarding Iran's progression in manufacturing air planes, Vahidi stressed, "We are determined to make sea patrons to be used in Iran in near future after "Iran 140" Airplane now used in the country."
