Preliminary phase of IRGC ground forces' drills starts

Tehran, Feb 19, IRNA -- The preliminary phase of the IRGC's ground forces military exercises dubbed “Valfajr” started in the central Yazd province on Sunday.
These military drills are the final phase of the series of exercises staged by the Iranian ground forces during the current Iranian year, started on March 20, Commander of IRGC Ground Forces, Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour said.
The military drill aims to demonstrate the combat readiness of Iranian forces in a probable confrontation with enemies and to bolster their defense capabilities, he added.
The main phase of the drills will end on February 20.
