Spain concerned about EU sanctions, calling for dialogue: Envoy

Tehran , Feb 7, IRNA -- Spanish Ambassador to Iran Pedro Biena said that Spain is concerned about EU sanctions, calling for dialogue to remove misunderstanding between Iran and the European Union.
He told Chairman of Iranian Majlis Commission on National Security and Foreign Policy Alaeddin Boroujerdi that Madrid is willing to develop all-out cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Biena said that Spain is suffering the greatest loss from the EU sanctions on Iran, adding that Spain calls for diplomatic efforts to resolve the dispute between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the EU.
He said that Spain never advocates any sanctions on Iran.
Boroujerdi said that there are extensive capacity for economic cooperation between Tehran and Madrid, calling for bolstering of relations in all fields.
He said that the western governments will get nothing from their much publicized sanctions on Iran, adding that the EU decisions have nothing to do with the realities on the ground so that they will lose the most from their self-proclaimed sanctions.
'The Islamic Republic of Iran will decide on cutting oil exports to the EU. Of course, Iran will adopt such a policy based on practices of every individual European government,' Boroujerdi said.
