IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Feb 7, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said a ranking delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will visit Iran again on February 21-22.
In a press conference on Tuesday, he said the visits prove Iran’s transparency and cooperation with the international nuclear watchdog.
Mehmanparast stressed that the visits could also improve the degree of the IAEA familiarity with Iran’s nuclear activities and facilitate Iran’s access to its basic rights.
Saying that the latest talks between Iran and the IAEA delegation were carried out in a positive atmosphere, he said the two sides agreed on a second visit in February.
The last IAEA delegation’s three-day visit to Iran ended February 11.
During their stay in Iran, the IAEA experts visited no nuclear sites but held talks with Iranian experts.
The spokesman further said Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council will answer the letter by the European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton soon.
He said Iran has always welcomed all-out talks on joint views in a positive atmosphere.
As for new US sanctions against Iran, he said this was nothing new for the Iranian nation Since Tehran has been facing such moves for the past three decades.
He said those who decide to exert illogical pressures on a country to stop its development and progress, they will receive crushing response.
