TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iran inaugurated the production line of navy cruise missile system dubbed "Zafar" (Victory) on Saturday, in presence of Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi.
The inauguration ceremony came as the country is celebrating the ten-day-dawn ceremony (February 1-11) which led to Islamic Revolution Victory in 1979.
"Zafar is an anti-ship, short-range and radar missile system capable to annihilate small and mid-size objects with high precision," Vahidi said. The system was delivered to Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) navy forces.
The home-built missile with low weight can be installed on high-speed and light crafts. It possesses high electronic war and annihilation capabilities, he added.
"The cruise missile reaches cruise level after being fired to be hidden from the enemy's sight and it annihilates the target in lower altitudes," he said.
