Moscow criticizes US, EU unilateral sanctions against Iran

Moscow, Jan 24, IRNA -- Deputy chairman of Russia Duma’s foreign affaires committee Andrei Klimov, in a TV program, criticized unilateral sanctions of the USA and the European Union against Iran.
Speaking in Russian TV network “ TVC” and in a political program called “ Voting right”, Klimov on Monday afternoon said that every country or company has the right to establish trade ties with others, but the US and EU are prohibiting their businesses from having commercial ties with Iran.
He added that west has political goals in imposing sanctions against Iran.
The Russian parliamentarian stressed that the main goal of the US and EU sanctions against Iran is to topple Iranian government.
He denied west claims that accuse Iran of hidden nuclear activities and said Iran has no hidden activities.
The Russian official said that Iran has already declared its readiness for cooperation with International Atomic Energy Agency.
Klimov underlined Iran’s importance and position for Russia and said the US is far from Iran and region, but we are close and any problem for Iran will threaten Russia's security, too.
