Navy commander: Iran always in full control of Hormuz Strait

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Jan 15, IRNA -- Iran’s Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said that Iran has always been in full control of the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

He made the remark in an interview with IRNA on Sunday in response to the repeated claims by the West and the Zionist regime media that the real intention of Iran in the recent “Velayat-90” war games conducted in its southern waters was to close the Hormuz Strait.

He stressed that Iran has always dominated the strategic strait and will continue to do so in the future.

The commander said all should be vigilant not to let the world bullying powers and the Zionist regime create any tensions in this sensitive region.

Saying that big powers and the Zionist regime are trying to spread Iranophobia in the region, Sayyari noted that they were afraid of Iran’s growing power in the region.

However, he stressed, Iran has always conveyed messages of peace and friendship to the regional nations and is ready to conduct joint maneuvers with other regional and neighboring countries.
