TEHRAN (ISNA)-An Iranian senior military official said Iran’s Army Ground Forces would hold drill in February.
Iranian Army Ground Forces' Commander Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan noted new tactics would be carried out in the exercise, pointing out that new pieces of equipment which are to be delivered to the forces by Iran’s Defense Ministry would be used in the drill.
He referred to the objective of the drill, noting, “We should increase our capabilities to confront threats due to the new situation and new face of threats.”
Iranian "Velayat-e 90" 10-day naval exercise started on December 24, 2011 and ended on January 2, 2012. It took place in line with a recent directive by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, instructing Iranian Armed Forces to maintain total readiness to defend the nation against any potential threats.
