IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Bandar Abbas, Hormuzgan prov., Jan 7, IRNA -- Head of Iran’s Nuclear Energy Organization Fereydoun Abbasi said the Bushehr nuclear power plant will reach its full capacity of 1000 megawatts soon.
lHe made the remark Saturday morning while taking to reporters on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of an exhibition of the country’s nuclear achievements in this southern port city.
He said the power plant will operate at full swing by the occasion of ten-day Fajr festivities (February 1-11) which marks the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran over three decades ago.
Reminding that the Bushehr power plant is not generating any electricity now despite its inauguration earlier this Iranian year, he said Iran was focusing more on details now after what happened to a Japanese power plant in an earthquake in 2011.
He also said the presence of Russian experts in the power plant provided Iranian scientists the chance to get fully acquainted with the performance of different parts of the nuclear power.
