TEHRAN (ISNA) - Deputy Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Air Forces Azizollah Nasirzadeh said Iranian Defense Ministry is conducting studies to build vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) fighters.
He said Iranian air forces and armed forces can give tough response to any threat.
Nasirzadeh continued Iran holds 3.5 generation and 4 generation fighters and it only modernizes smart electronic and radar warfare systems.
He said, "Our fighters are one of the most updated fighters."
Over the past years, Iran has gained considerable progresses in defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in manufacturing key military equipment and systems.
The country has repeatedly announced that its military might is merely based on defense doctrine and deterrence of any attack and poses no threat to other countries.
