Iran conducts mining operation in naval exercise

TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iranian Navy carried out defense mining operation in the fifth day of naval drill codenamed “Velayat-e 90" on Wednesday.
A spokesman for the drill, Rear Admiral Mahmoud Mousavi noted mining operation aimed at hindering enemy's infiltration into coastal installations and violation of the country’s territory. He pointed out patrolling and reconnaissance operations have been carried out by different army drones as well.
Mousavi added exercising such operations would help boosting practical and operational training in the drill site.
He continued seizures of hypothetical enemy's floating units aiming to protect the local transportation lines and cut the enemy's were other measures completed in the fifth day of the exercise.
“Aerial logistic operation was also carried out by different army fighter jets as well,” Mousavi stressed.
On Saturday, December 24, Iran's Navy launched a massive 10-day naval exercise, covering an area stretching from the east of the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Aden.
