TEHRAN (ISNA) - An Iranian lawmaker Alaeddin Boroujerdi said Afghanistan should be held accountable for entry of the U.S. spy drone into Iranian air space from its soil.
Boroujerdi in a meeting with visiting Afghan Deputy Defense Minister Mohammad Homayoun Fawzi expressed serious objection to entry of the U.S. spy drone into Iranian air space from Afghanistan's territory and said, "It goes against international rules and friendly relations between Iran and Afghanistan."
He also called for Afghan government to not allow such issues occur again.
The Head of Iranian Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission said the long-term presence of the U.S. forces inside Afghanistan undermines national sovereignty and independence of the country and added, "Presence of foreign forces in Afghanistan is a serious threat to regional security and stability."
Mohammad Homayoun Fawzi on his part said his country would not allow any threat from Afghanistan be posed against Iran.
