Iran will never forget two diplomats deaths in Embassy raid in UK

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

London, Dec 1, IRNA -- Iranian nation will never forget deaths of two diplomats in Embassy raid in London in 1980 due to negligence of UK police despite prior notice by Iran, former students leader in London said on Thursday.

Former secretary of Islamic Association of Iranian Students in London Bashir Biazar said in an interview with IRNA that the British government's hasty action over the students' spontaneous reaction reveals that it has forgotten the dealy attack on Iran’s Embassy and negligence of UK police despite prior notice by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He said that two diplomats -- Abbas Lawasani and Ali Akbar Samadzadeh, were martyred in the armed attack on Iranian Embassy in London when UK police turned blind eye.

There are documents and evidences to prove that the British government and police were aware of the plot in 1980 but what they did was full negligence, he said.

Biazar noted that none of the international institutions condemned the anti-human and barbaric act. Furthermore, Iran’s protest produced no result and no statement was issued by the United Nations Security Council to denounce the attack.

Referring to British government’s hostile and interfering policies toward the other countries including Iran, he said that if it did not violate international regulations by unilateral sanctions against Iran, the spontaneous reaction by the Iranian students would not happen.

Describing the break into the British Embassy on November 29 as unacceptable, he said that however, the root cause such reaction is the British government itself.

Which of its actions such as deployment of troops in other countries, massacre of the innocent people and unreasonable unilateral sanctions on the nations are rational and legal? he wondered.

British Foreign Secretary William Hague told the UK parliament on Wednesday that he required Iranian diplomats to leave London within 48 hours and close Iranian Embassy in London.
