According to the IRNA defense affairs reporter, Admiral Bigham who was speaking Wednesday evening at a ceremony marking the International Navy Day for the military attaches of foreign countries in Tehran, added, 'Relying on their points of strength and their shared potentials, the nations are well capable of preparing the ground for their evermore proximity with the other countries.'

The Iranian high brass commander added, 'The nations can meanwhile provide for peace, security, and peace of mind for the entire mankind in the world within a structure based on justice, in a bid to embrace global peace and security.'

The Deputy Commander of the Iranian Navy added, 'In the history of the entire nations around the globe we can find days on which those people have bravely fought to safeguard the dignity, ideals, beliefs and territorial integrity of their motherlands.'

Rear Admiral Bigham added, 'November 28th marks a golden page in the report card of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy, reminding us of the braveries of gallant men who stood tall in defense of this land against the invasion of enemy, and embraced martyrdom while performing their mission.'

He pointed out that November 28th marked the first decisive and early victory at the scene of naval combats for the Islamic Republic of Iran, adding, 'That apparently tactical victory had precious messages for us, as souvenirs.'

The Deputy Navy Commander reiterated, 'That operation marked the enemy's first vast and early defeat in encountering us, halting the progress of the enemy's war machine, blocking their naval connections and severing their oil exports by destroying the Al-Bakr and Al-Umayyah oil derricks were among the strategic achievements of that military victory.'

He added, 'On December 28th, 1980, the ground was paved for further victories for our country and the global oppression's strategies for changing the region's geopolitical map remained impotent.'

Admiral Bigham added, 'That victory meanwhile showed that the global oppression front's coalition is incompetent in confrontation with the strong will of the Iranian nation, which is backed by a rich historical background.'

He added, 'This victory also urged the global oppression front to enter a new field, named the field of 'lack of certainty' and the enemy's early defeat at sea helped our country to take control of the war economy, which was the most important field.'

The top military official reiterated that today after the passage of 31 years from that pride-inspiring event, the IRI Navy relying on the precious experience of the Eight-Year Holy Defense, and despite the vastly imposed military and economic sanctions, has managed to achieve great objectives in technological, scientific, repair and maintenance, renovation and manufacturing of parts, as well as manufacturing facilities for surface and subsurface floating objects.'

He added, 'The IRI Navy has mightily proved that merely relying on belief in God and the capabilities of the hard working youth, it is possible to achieve the most advanced scientific and technological stages in the world, and to show the fact to the world nations that self esteem and self confidence are the main secrets of victory.'

Rear Admiral Bigham reiterated, 'Manufacturing the missile launcher Peykan, the Qadir missile which functions under the surface, and the Islamic Republic of Iran Jamaran warship-destroyer ship based on the latest world technology, side by side with the other surface and subsurface floating naval units, in the framework of 16 naval war fleets in the course of the past two years, that have sailed at the vast span of the international waters and performed the mission of combat against sea piracy terrorism proudly and successfully, bears good witness to that claim.'

The Deputy IRI Navy Commander added, 'The Islamic Republic of Iran has in another long stride, and benefited from the power of generating thoughts and harbingering international dialogue, tried to define another foundation for deterrence around the axis of security.'

At the end he announced the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy's readiness in the framework of interactions among governments, for establishment of give and takes in the fields of training, technology, dispatching, or hosting training warships, and exchange of experience that can boost the regional security.
